LIC Cautions Policyholders Not to Link Aadhaar Number through SMS

Life Insurance Corporation of India has shared a notification on all their social platforms as well as through various medium cautioning Policyholders not to link their Aadhaar Number through SMS.

As of now LIC only allows policyholders to get their Aadhaar Number linked with their respective policies through online portal of LIC India, and as of now there is no SMS medium method to link Aadhaar Number with LIC Policy.

It is been came of attention of LIC India that some messages are been circulated in social media with LIC logo asking to get Aadhaar Number linked with respective policy by sending SMS to designated number. When LIC India came across this scam without any delay they tried to notify all policy holders by publishing notice on their official social media pages saying "Our attention is drawn to some messages circulated in social media with our emblem and logo asking policyholders to link their Aadhaar Number by sending SMS to designated number. LIC of India informs the public and policyholders that no such message has been sent by LIC. Also no facility to link Aadhaar Number to policies is available through SMS in LIC. As and when LIC will enable linking of Aadhaar Number with policies through SMS, our website will be duly updated of this option. LIC policyholders are cautioned to check with LIC offices before sharing their personal information."
