Government is planning to make Aadhaar Mandatory for Kids Staying in Care Homes from next month. A child who is found missing should be issued Aadhaar Card before he is admitted to Care Home to ensure faster rehabilitation.
The National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR) are also supporting this initiative as it will bring more transparency in tracking child details. Last month there was an incident happened where a 15 years old girl was found missing in Chhattisgarh and later on she was moved to Child Home Care in Delhi. However even after her family was tracked, the girl was not handed over to them because the child welfare committee did not have details of the girl. After her parents complained to The National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR), the girl was handed over to them.
By enrolling Missing Kids for Aadhar before they are taken to Child Care Homes it will become simple process to send them back to their State or Family.
