Tax Payers in India has been increased with linking of Aadhaar and on the other hand Government has identified and deactivated around 81 lakh Aadhaar Card and 11 lakh PAN Cards. This step of deactivating Aadhaar and PAN Card was taken due to unscrupulous people's effort to exploit the government policies by using multiple cards.
So the Government of India recently rectified and deactivated around 11,44,211 PAN Cards as in most of the cases Multiple PAN was allotted to one single person. On other hand UIDAI the authority who issues Aadhaar Number deactivated around 81 lakh Aadhaar numbers. UIDAI deactivated these Aadhaar Number as per Aadhaar Life Cycle Management (ALCM) guidelines.
Ever since Modi Government has come into existence several actions has been taken in Indian Financial System to get rid of Fake Identities, which involved Multiple PAN Cards and Aadhaar Cards. Recently Government has made Aadhaar Mandatory while filing Income Tax Returns and applying for fresh PAN Card. And Government has also asked residents to link their Aadhaar Number with their PAN Card, but for that you need to check status of your PAN and Aadhaar if it is in active state or not. So below is the process which will explain the complete process to check Aadhaar and PAN Status.
Check Aadhaar Active/ De-active Status
If your Aadhaar shows inactive or invalid on checking verification than visit nearby Aadhaar Enrollment Center along with POI, POA and DOB Documents. Fill out the Aadhaar Update Application Form and enter in your existing Aadhaar Number in the form, enclose your documents and submit it. Your biometrics will be re-verified, and if it matches the existing data than only your Aadhaar will get activated.

- Visit Official UIDAI Website https://uidai.gov.in/
- Go to Verify Aadhaar Number.
- Enter in your Aadhaar Number and enter security code as you can see in the image and click on Verify button.
- If your Aadhaar Number is Valid than on next page a message will be displayed confirming the status of your Aadhaar Number, in case if your Aadhaar is invalid than it will say this Aadhaar Number does not exists.

- Visit incometaxindiaefiling.gov.in portal.
- Click on Know Your PAN.
- Fill in your details asked like your name, status, DOB, Mobile Number and click on submit button.
- You will receive One Time Password on your mobile number, just enter the otp and click on validate.
- If your PAN Number is active than it will display it is active and if not than it will display inactive status.
