Linking Aadhaar with Marriage Registration to Become Mandatory Soon

Few time ago Government had made linking PAN Card with Aadhaar Number mandatory, and now the Law Commission of India has made another announcement to mandatory furnish Aadhaar Number for Marriage Registration.

This step has been taken to keep track on Child Marriages, Gender Violence, and Bigamy in the society.

Marriage Registration is not a new trend but it is carried out from ages in various personal laws such as Hindu Marriage Act 1955, The Special Marriages Act 1954, The Parsi Marriage and Divorce Act 1936 and the Indian Christian Marriage Act 1872.
