How to Link Aadhaar Card to PAN Card

As per Government of India notification if you have Aadhaar Number it is mandatory to link it to your PAN Card and you should also mention your Aadhaar Number during filing your tax returns.

There are various methods to link Aadhaar Card to PAN Card, you can use any one method which is as per your convenience.

Link Aadhaar Card to PAN Card Online
  • You can link Aadhaar Card Number to your PAN Card Online by registering on Income Tax India Website or without registering on Income Tax India Website. As per your convenience you can link your Aadhaar Card to PAN Card by using any of the below online method.

  • Feed in your PAN Number, Aadhaar Number, Name as per Aadhaar Card, select I have only year of birth in Aadhaar only if in your Aadhaar Card Only Year of Birth is mentioned on your Aadhaar Card, solve the captcha, and click on link Aadhaar.
  • Once you submit after verification the linking of your Aadhaar with PAN will be processed.
  • After verification from UIDAI which is the government website for Aadhaar, the linking will be confirmed. 
  • Alternatively if you have registered account on incometaxindiaefiling.gov.in website, just login into your account.
  • Go to 'Profile Settings' and click on 'Link Aadhaar', input your 12 digit Aadhaar Number, solve the captcha and click on link now button.

Link Aadhaar Card to PAN via SMS
  • This method to link Aadhaar Number to PAN will be very beneficial to masses who are not well good in using Internet. By sending just a single SMS from your registered mobile number you can get your Aadhaar Number linked to your PAN Card, below is the SMS Format which you will have to compose on your phone to link Aadhaar Card to PAN via SMS.
  • UIDPAN<12 digit Aadhaar><10 digit PAN> and send it to 567678 or 56161
