After receiving lots of complaints from public UIDAI have finally registered two FIR complaints against the Aadhaar Service Providers who were charging money for all Aadhaar Services and secondly against those numerous illegal online website portals which were providing Aadhaar Services after collecting details from people.
So after registering these complaints at Connaught Place Police Station, the Police has already started investigating in this matter.
According to the sources in the first case of complaint Swaroop Chand Rana the Section Officer who was posted at Regional Offices in Pragati Maidan, said he had received several complaints from Dwara Malviya Nagar and other regions of Delhi alleging that several Aadhaar card Service providers were charging huge amount of money beyond prescribed limits. So on the basis of these complaints the first case was registered under IPC section 420 and 34.
After these complaints were registered UIDAI representatives Anupam Rathore and Chachal Shrivastava were requested to verify the allegations. And after verification they found that the Aadhaar Service Providers were charging Rs.150/- for new Aadhaar Enrollment which is absolutely free of cost and Rs.500/- was charged for any update of Aadhaar Details which usually costs Rs.25/- only.
According to the sources in the second complaint of Prashant Chauhan deputy director of UIDAI, said the numerous illegal websites were providing unauthorized Aadhaar related services and they used to collect details of the people. So the case has been registered under IPC section 420 and 66(D) of IT Act. The police have already started investigating in this matter by taking help of Cyber Cell.
