The Tax Department of India has passed an order to link Aadhaar Number with Bank Account latest by 30th April 2017 to avoid your account getting blocked.
However the linking of Aadhaar with Bank Account, Insurance or Stock Account is mandatory, only to those who had opened account between July 2014 to August 2015 under the foreign tax compliance act (FATCA).
Before Supreme Court of India had ordered that Aadhaar Card can only be mandatory for various welfare schemes, but now it looks Government is trying to push usage of Aadhaar beyond the Supreme Court Order. Now Aadhaar Card is been asked to file income tax returns, open new bank account and link PAN Card or else it would go invalid.
The deadline given by government to link PAN with Aadhaar Number is July 1st 2017. On other hand Government is trying to widespread the usage of Aadhaar as much as possible to maintain the database of citizens of India so that no fraudulent activities are carried away.
